History of Figeac wines

The roots of Château Figeac go back to the second century AD, when the estate already encompassed a Roman villa. The current vineyard was formalised in the 18th century and grew into a pioneer among the great wines of Saint-Émilion. In 1946 the château officially received the status of Premier Grand Cru Classé B, a recognition granted to very few and one that unequivocally underlines its prestige. Over the years Château Figeac remained true to its philosophy of quality over quantity. Under the leadership of the Manoncourt family, who have been at the helm since the 1890s, the estate gained international recognition.
